"Logical fallacies are structural flaws in an argument's reasoning, independent of whether the conclusion happens to be true — which means an argument can be both persuasive and invalid at the same time, and learning to spot the structure is what protects you from the persuasion."
A conclusion can be true and the argument for it can still be garbage. Those are two separate questions, and most people only ever check one of them.
